Teenfest '96 blasts off with an afternoon of high octane fun and entertainment for Reston teens on Saturday, April 20 from Noon-5 p.m. Presented by the Reston Community Center Youth Council, this sixth annual event celebrates what it means to be a teen with activities designed to motivate and unify area youth ages 13-18.

The festivities launch at Noon at Lake Fairfax Park (1400 Lake Fairfax Dr., Reston). with non-stop music and performances spotlighting teen talent. Sparks will fly on stage with high energy performances by local bands including VHF, Perfection, Soul Enforcer, Nemesis and Erik Kelly.

Highlighting the onstage entertainment will be an appearance by Bovox Clown, the Annapolis based band that won MTV's 1994 Beach House Band Search. Described as "Freudian-Floydian trip," the band describes its own music as rooted in the "60's and 70's rock but updated into a timeless yet modern sound that is totally unique."

Rounding out the afternoon's attractions will be rides on the Orbitron Space Simulator, Velcro Jumps and supercharged stageside challenges. Refreshments will be on sale throughout the day. Commemorative Teenfest '96 T-shirts will also be available for purchase.

Admission is free, no tickets are required to attend. Parking will be available on site at the park.
