The Seattle Mime Theatre Ushers Mime into the Moern Arena at the Reston Community Center

Resoundingly praised for their "sense of fantasy" and "infectious humor", The Seattle Mime Theatre will delight physical comedy lovers of all ages with back-to-back performances at the Reston Community Center Theatre. On April 19 at 8 p.m., the Seattle Mime Theatre presents Animotion, an irresistble blend of physical comedy and improvisational theatrics. On April 20 at 3 p.m., it's SMT and Friends, guaranteed to keep audiences of all ages enthralled with amusing antics. Devotees of traditional mime and lovers of contemporary theatre will delight as this creative trio ushers mime into the modern arena.

The Seattle Mime Theatre transcends the boundaries of classical mime theatre by fusing the elements of traditional white face with a unique blend of physical comedy, dance, improvisation, storytelling and the circus arts. The result is a performance that captivates audiences with the magic of illusion, touches them with thought-provoking comment, and introduces them to characters both familiar and exotic.

The company tours extensively throughout the United States, has headlined the prestigious Edinburgh Festival in Scotland and was selected to perform in Japan as part of a sister city cultural exchange. Tickets are $10 all seats for Friday's performance and $5 all seats for Saturdays matinee. Tickets go on sale beginning April 6 at the Reston Community Center Box Office, 703 476-1111.
